Dear Friends,
An incredible and inspirational evening was shared by all when the 5th Grade students of P.S. 132 presented "Everyday Heroes" in our school auditorium.
Under the guidance of professional TADA! teaching artists and the amazing 5th Grade teachers, 5th Grade students wrote and performed an original musical based upon heroes, a unit of study in their character education program. It was decided by the 5th Grade students to use their performance as a venue to honor Everyday Heroes from the Greenpoint/Williamsburg Community. Their show was dedicated to a local fallen hero, Daniel F. Pudjak.
For 18 weeks, our students became fully emersed in all aspects of writing and performing a musical. Many long hours were dedicated to practice, set, costume and prop design. The end result was simply magnificant!
On the night of the performance, our auditorium was crowded with proud parents, staff members, teachers, community friends, and of course, Local Everyday Heroes. Students presented our everyday local heroes with honorary awards on behalf of our school community. Local precincts, firehouses, councilmembers and our community superintendent were honored. The students did an incredible job and dazzled the audience with their star studded performance! As their principal, I was simply amazed! Kudos to my 5th Grade teachers and students on a job well done! BRAVO!!!
With Warm Regards!

Dear Friends,
Wow! We certainly had an exciting day today! Despite the rain, we did our best to "Get Up and Move on the 100th Day of School!" A very special thank you to our Community Friends that cheered us on and graciously welcomed us into their businesses. Their excitement helped us feel the warmth of our strong Williamsburg family. The Crazy Hats this year were creative and innovative...simply amazing. A warm thanks to all our families, students and staff members that obviously spent countless hours creating awe inspiring hats! After a fun filled day of counting steps, counting items on our hats and items in our Hundreds Museum, I am sure we all feel 100 Days Smarter!!

I lived in the Cooper Park Houses and I attended P.S. 132 from 1957 til 1962. From there my family moved to Englewood N.J ending up in Teaneck N.J. I eventually made my way to Columbia U. (after a short stay at the U.S. Naval Academy) to study philosophy in 1970. I am giving my academic history to let you know that I believe that whatever academic success I achieved I did so because of a fire for learning that was ignited in this school inside me for Science and Math in those early days in the 50's. I want to thank you. And, as I read this web page, I am very very happy to see that this school continues to provide a great primary education to young people who will take what they've experienced here into whatever field they choose to work in just like I did.
Thanks you very much! And keep up the good work!
